From The newsdesk blog
The number of Arb registered architects that died last year amounted to just 49.
Of course, that’s 49 too many, but it was the lowest number recorded over the last decade.
The worst year? Palindrome 2002, when 121 architects died.
The figures were published in the Arb’s annual report this week, which showed the number of registered architects in 2011 rose by 391 to 33,456.
29,545 of these are men, with women making up just 21% of the profession.
33,179 fees were collected. 11 architects paid in cash.
And the average waiting time for your call to be answered is ten seconds.
For more exciting facts see the full report attached.

BD is finally actually reporting on Architects rather than designers who call themselves Architects, even if it is only about their deaths.
Yes - we must stop this. Too many architects are dying.
Is today April 1st.?
Oh and BTW, it's "The number of Arb registered architects WHO died last year".
The PDF of the Report doesn't seem to be available. And as Paul Wilkinson pointed out on Twitter, the percentage stated regarding women architects doesn't seem to be correct. If 29,545 of all architects are men, then the percentage of women would be less than 12%.
