In the first half of the 20th century it wasn’t just athletes honoured in the Olympic games, architects and town planners received medals too.

At the 1948 London Olympics the winner of the “mixed architecture, architectural designs” gold medal was the Austrian Adolf Hoch for his work Skisprungschanze auf dem Kobenzl.

Unfortunately for the creatives the quest for Olympic gold stopped after the 1948 London games and only sporting architects are able to get their hands on a medal now.
