House to be built from bronze and luminous orange bricks
Adrian James Architects has won planning permission for a house in the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The house will be built from bronze and luminous orange bricks, the most widely used building material in the local area.
Ground floor spaces have panoramic windows while first floor rooms have full height vertical windows.
The house is designed to provide different views into the surrounding garden from all the major rooms.

I'm curious as to how he got permission for this. Not because of its lumpish ugliness so much as because the Chilterns Design Guide (http://tinyurl.com/dxnuk8w) is notoriously "traditionalist" and anti-modern. Looking at this house I can almost sympathise with the anti-moderns.
