AHMM's 'white collar factory' by Old Street roundabout in London

AHMM has won planning for a 26,800sq m redevelopment beside the Old Street roundabout - also known as the Silicon Roundabout - in east London.

The centrepiece of the scheme is an 16-storey office building, which the practice has described as a “white collar factory” because its higher-than-average ceilings are intended to give it a warehouse feel.

The rest of the development will be a mixture of new and refurbished five to six-storey buildings containing retail and studio office space aimed at small technology companies.

There will also be a new public square at the centre of the site behind City Road.
