Vauxhall Square, Allies & Morrison
168m-tall buildings proposed for south London
Allies & Morrison has submitted plans for two 50 storey, residential-led towers in Vauxhall, south London.
The £400 million Vauxhall Square redevelopment for CLS Holdings will include 510 apartments, office space, 94 affordable homes, 416 student units and a 438 bed hotel.
The scheme, which will see the demolition of a 1980’s office building, also includes a new public square and a homeless hostel, as well as a four screen cinema.
Richard Tice, chief executive officer of CLS Holdings, said: “This substantial mixed-use scheme is a key element to the Vauxhall Nine Elms regeneration plans.”
Work is due to start on site in 2014, with phases being completed from 2017 onwards.

Not as good as the original New York Twin Towers.
Not bad - definitely an improvement on certain recent towers in the area. But am I the only one to see more than a passing resemblance to Glasgow's shortly-to-be-demolished Bluevale and Whitevale twins?
50-stories each?! What a complete travesty, let alone eyesore!
