Van Heyningen and Haward drawing up masterplan

Van Heyningen and Haward Architects has been appointed to carry out a masterplan for sports facilities at the former public school home of Iron Maiden lead singer Bruce Dickinson.

Oundle School in Northamptonshire, where boarding fees top £30,000 a year and whose former pupils also include architect Maxwell Hutchinson, wants to build a new eight court sports hall, a 25m swimming pool, fitness facilities as well expand outdoor playing surfaces, primarily for hockey and netball.

The masterplan will also aim to improve access for cars and footpaths as well as provide more landscaped open spaces.
