Ben Adams' desk
BD takes a look at the workspaces of architects
Ben Adams said: “I sit and draw at this desk whenever I can: I have a big fountain pen and a fat fibre tip to sketch with, and a thin one for precise drawings. My desk has no computer or phone. With a lack of means for clients to get in touch, the opportunity to think clearly about architecture is exponentially increased. It is very large and happy to accommodate a multitude of detritus. The model in the background is a new house in Kent that sits beside a forest on an flat, elevated site. There is a large Victorian cabinet just out of shot that we try and fill with curious and ambiguous things; trophies, Lego architecture series and prototypes.”

finally, an archigram style kitchen table work space
Not much work coming in these days.
Remind me, why is an architect's desk supposed to be interesting?
Splendid dining room, I must say, what.
Damn interesting desk I say! A fine use of white too.
'Eames Chairs' are fakes...
My desk looks as if I've got something to do. And where is his computer?
Clients can't get in touch! Lunacy - without clients the desk may become as posed and empty as it currently is.
I'd like to curl up under that desk and weep.
"Clients can't get in touch!" Lunacy I think not! Sounds like a damn fine idea to me! Damn clients always meddling with my fine art - wish they would just pipe down and put up some more cash I say! Ho Ho!
