£33 million project is for University of Southampton

Architecture PLB has secured planning permission for new student residents at the University of Southampton.

The £33 million project includes 1,100 bedrooms arrange with a mix of flat clusters, single studios and one-bed suites.

The practice said the design is based on a simple courtyard arrangement, with the three blocks forming an internal piazza, punctuated by a public route through the site.

The project is due to go on site in November 2012, and is scheduled to complete in August 2014.
