Source: BDPScrapping of Preston Tithebarn scheme is latest disaster to hit UK’s largest practice
BDP has announced it will close four regional offices after learning that its £700 million Tithebarn project in Preston has been shelved.
The UK’s largest architect said it would close its Belfast, Edinburgh, Liverpool and Winchester offices.
Earlier this month, the practice confirmed that up to 100 staff would be made redundant as a result of public sector spending cuts and delays to a £420 million Brighton hospital scheme, one of the firm’s biggest projects.
The Belfast office is expected to close at the end of this year, with the loss of 18 jobs. Winchester will also close.
Staff at Liverpool will move to Manchester, while Edinburgh staff are expected to move to Glasgow.

Hate this sort of news!
such a shame, its good to keep regional offices
Real shame they are a great firm and have done some super projects over the years, this is really wretched news. The architects at BDP are amongst some of the best I wish them good luck as they move towards the future.
Regional offices are a good thing, I agree, and despite what a lot of larger firms think, Edinburgh and Glasgow are not in the same region! I wonder if BDP will pay the £3200 a year commute for each of those who have to?
