Cabe launches design guidance for planners

‘A Design Wayfinder’ helps fill gap left by PPS1

Design Council Cabe (DCC) has published a new document to help planners make the case for good design under the National Planning Policy Framework.

Called ‘A Design Wayfinder’, the booklet is an attempt to address the gap left by Planning Policy Statement 1 (PPS1), which gave guidance on the influence of design on applications and development plans.

Kathy MacEwen, head of localism and planning at DCC, said: “We are delighted to publish this document, which elegantly puts together existing guidance on design in planning. It is based on our 12 years of experience in helping to create better places through planning.”
