James Stedman failed to pay contractor more than £9,000
A Cardiff architect has been struck from the architects register after failing to pay a contractor more than £9,000.
James Stedman of Stedman Architectural was found guilty of unacceptable professional conduct by the Arb.
The board’s professional conduct committee heard that Stedman failed to pay four invoices to a consultant hydrologist.
A court judgement was obtained ordering Stedman to pay the sum of £9,037. Stedman promised to pay £500 a month but failed to make the payments.
The committee also heard that Stedman was appointed to oversee a home extension and informed his clients that tenders had been sent out.
When the clients contacted building firms they were told Stedman had not been in touch with any of them.
Stedman chose not to attend the hearing into the allegations and offered no explanation for his actions.
