Closing date for Liverpool scheme is next month

Architects have until the middle of next month to come up with proposals for a new building for bereavement counselling at the Alder Hey Health Park in Liverpool – home of the children’s hospital.

The competition is being organised by RIBA Competitions for the Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust.

The Alder Centre will provide bereavement counselling for families who have lost a child as well as a national telephone helpline and general counselling for Trust staff.

Up to five firms will be shortlisted with an honorarium of £4,000 paid to each. The building will run across 310sq m with the brief stating that “purpose designed external space will be as equally an important feature of the successful design”.

The closing date is March 13 with more details here.

BDP’s new Alder Hey hospital opened in autumn 2015.
