Edinburgh office in for planning

Scheme drawn up by local firm 7N

Local practice 7N Architects has submitted plans for a 12,000sq m office block in Edinburgh.

The building for developer EDI Group is planned for the India Quay regeneration project in the Fountainbridge area of the Scottish capital.

The practice said the building will place a high emphasis on wellbeing with tall, naturally lit, floor plates and a hybrid ventilation system.

The firm developed the masterplan for the India Quay site back in 2013 and is also working on plans for more than 400 homes across four buildings at the development which will be a mixture of rented and affordable housing.

Meanwhile, Hoskins Architects and local practice Comprehensive Design Architects have completed a mixed-use scheme in Edinburgh’s historic New Town.

Called South St Andrew Square, this scheme includes around 10,000sq m of office space as well close to 7,000sq m of leisure and retail. A number of apartments have also been built. The scheme has been developed by Standard Life.
