American architect appointed by US insurer WR Berkley
Kohn Pederson Fox has been appointed by a US insurance firm to design a 40-storey tower to be built in London’s Square Mile.
WR Berkley is working with the American architect on plans for a tower on the corner of Lime Street and Leadenhall Street.
The skyscraper would stand at the centre of a cluster of towers in the City which includes the Gherkin and the Heron Tower (pictured), also designed by KPF.
A spokeswoman for WR Berkley said: “WR Berkley can confirm it has appointed the world class architects KPF in respect of an office development scheme at 52-54 Lime Street in London.
“Our plans are in development and are engaged in discussions with the Corporation of London. We will make an announcement in due course once we have finalised our proposals.”
The building is likely to be used as a headquarters for WR Berkley’s UK business.
KPF declined to comment.
