Legacy body seeks architects to judge Olympic Park

Design review panel’s first job includes Chobham Manor

Architects, environmentalists and development experts are being recruited for a new review panel, advising on the design of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

The panel will review planning applications for proposals within the park, and for the wider area under the Mayoral Development Corporation’s jurisdiction.

Andrew Altman, chief executive of the London Legacy Development Corporation, said he was seeking “an exceptional group of people”.

“This is an opportunity to shape the design of the park – we want our park to have the highest possible standards of sustainability, awe-inspiring engineering and exemplary design.”

Up to 15 people will be appointed to the panel, including a chair and vice-chair, to start work in July 2012. Its first review will include Chobham Manor, the first neighbourhood planned for the Olympic Park.

Panelists will be paid £250 per day, with £400 per day for the chair.
