Winning design in place at Kensington Gardens

The first of Moxon Architects’ drinking fountains for the Royal Parks Foundation has been installed in Kensington Gardens, London.

The body of the fountain is cast in bronze, with stainless-steel drain and water supply components.

In a statement Moxon said: “The single most important consideration in the design of this fountain has been to ensure that its aesthetic qualities make it suitable for use in a wide range of circumstances.”

The installation of a second fountain is underway in Greenwich Park, and the product is also being sold abroad, with interested cities including New York and Athens.

Moxon won an international competition to design a drinking fountain for the Royal Parks Foundation in 2010.
