Work will be exhibited at London Design Festival
The Royal College of Art has teamed up with the American Hardwood Export Council to produce chairs for the London Design Festival.
The designs will be developed into working prototypes and each chair will be assessed for its life- cycle impact using the the AHEC’s Life Cycle Assessment research.
Tutor Sebastian Wrong said the project “offers a pioneering opportunity for students to create designs within the context of a stark reality”.
Co-tutor Harry Richardson added: “It is not only a case of designing a chair that will survive physically far in to the future, it is also to produce a chair whose design will remain relevant far in to the future.”

So just to clarify - Some chaps are going to make some chairs for some event. Jolly good what!
Design-wise, these chairs have nothing new to say and are not beautiful.
