Richard Murphy Architects’ third building for the University of East London, the £5.5 million Cass School of Education, has officially opened.

The practice was commissioned to design a masterplan for the university’s campus in Stratford and has since gone on to complete three buildings on the site.

Situated on the north side of the campus, the Cass School forms one side of a new university quadrangle comprised of the three Murphy designed buildings and an existing university block.

Spaces in the Cass building are arranged around a central atrium which contains a café and exhibition area, with three levels of teaching accommodation on the north side and four storeys of office space on the south.

Murphy’s £5.5 million Computer and Conference Centre on the campus was completed in April and also opened to the public last week.
