Principal and director left this week

The flight of RMJM staff continued this week with two key employees leaving the New York office.

Sean Roche, principal in the New York studio, and Hyun Jun Shin, director of Korea business division and based in New York have both left the practice, BD understands.

Roche had worked at RMJM since 2005 and his recent projects include the Huawei Technologies R&D Campus in Nanjing, China and the Saadiyat Island detailed masterplan in Abu Dhabi. He studied at the Bartlett and is registered with the Arb.

Shin had been with RMJM since 2008 and spent most of his time working in Korea where he oversaw the Gwanggyo Business Park masterplan and the POSCO Gymnasium conceptual design.

Both of their profiles still appear on RMJM’s website, but they are no longer employees of the firm.

Meanwhile, BD understands that payments to US staff are also outstanding, with some owed up to two pay cheques.

“Everyone is thinking that the doors will be closed any day. It’s not a good situation,” said one staff member.”There’s a feeling they will do to us what the management at YRM did.”
