Sanei Hopkins gets planning for Swanage pier pavilions

Pier Head seat in £7 million redevelopment

Sanei Hopkins Architects has been given the go-ahead for the redevelopment of the Pier Head site in Swanage.

The scheme includes two pavilions, with the L-shaped building forms designed to echo the Jurassic rock formations nearby.

An open podium with stepped seating around the perimeter forms the public realm, while the pavilions will include restaurant space. The two upper floors contain eight flats – four in each pavilion.

The pavilions are part of a wider £7 million project to redevelop the site and work is expected to start once notice has been given to existing tenants.
