Allies & Morrison, John McAslan and Eric Parry lose out
The developers of the Shell Centre on London’s South Bank have named the architects that lost out in the competition to design elements of the scheme.
They are Allies & Morrison, John McAslan & Partners, SOM, Robert Stern, PLP, Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands, Niall McLaughlin, Mossessian & Partners, Eric Parry and Horden Cherry Lee Architects.
They were invited to enter a competition organised by joint developers Qatari Diar and Canary Wharf Group and their masterplanners Squire & Partners.
The winners were Stanton Williams, KPF, Patel Taylor and Grid who have each been given a building to design, while Squire & Partners is designing three.
The developers have also released new images including the latest stage in the masterplan development.
Further public consultation is being held next week so designs have not been finalised.

Squire and Partners own a pub and also have a sideline in selling Urban Golf installations. Clearly a practice with such a healthy work life balance is doing something right. Work hard play hard - probably does equal better productivity and a happier workforce.
Other firms take note. Any Squire staff want to challenge my rose tinted view of their firm please put me right.
