Building in London’s Royal Docks opens

The Crystal, a sustainability centre built by Siemens in London’s Royal Victoria Docks, has opened its doors to the public. 

The competition-winning project has been designed by Wilkinson Eyre in collaboration with Pringle Brandon and exhibition designer, Event. 

The facility incorporates an exhibition on sustainable cities, a conference venue, and office space for Siemens’ global Centre of Competence for Cities. It has been designed as an exemplar of green technologies including the use of solar power, ground source heat pumps, energy efficient lighting and a closed water cycle.
