UN Studio pair awarded professorships

Dutch duo get roles at Harvard and Melbourne

The co-founders of Dutch practice UN Studio have both been awarded professorships at universities in the US and Australia.

Ben van Berkel has had his role as Kenzo Tange visiting professor chair at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design extended by three years. He was first awarded the role in 2011.

Other architects to have held the position in the past include Enric Miralles, Peter Zumthor and Zaha Hadid.

And Caroline Bos has been awarded an honorary professorship at Melbourne University’s faculty of architecture. The role will last five years.

Earlier this year the firm won plannning for its first UK project, a 30-storey tower residential tower on London’s City Road.
